Are you thinking of creating or relaunching a magazine? You probably have lots of questions about where to start, how to build an audience, what’s the best format to use, and how to support the magazine financially. During this four-week course, Lou Ann Sabatier, principal of Sabatier Consulting and popular conference speaker, will introduce the essential business principles needed to publish a magazine.
You’ll emerge from the course with a working knowledge of how to launch or relaunch a magazine, and you’ll gain an understanding of publishing processes and terminology, learn proven techniques and tools for your publishing operation, and sharpen your skills through class assignments and instructor feedback.
Course topics include:
- Week 1: Four key parts of your business strategy
- Week 2: Creating relevant content
- Week 3: Finding readers for your publication
- Week 4: Funding and sustaining your publication
The schedule is flexible in order to meet the needs of each student. The only scheduled events are the weekly one-hour live sessions. If you are unable to attend live, you may watch a recording, which is available online anytime. The live sessions will be held on Mondays at 11:00 am EDT.
