Laura Leonard is communications specialist at the Humanitarian Disaster Institute at Wheaton College, where she writes and edits articles and resources on the subject of disaster recovery and relief. She works with major media editors, publishing HDI articles, running social media and marketing campaigns, doing publicity for HDI, and coordinating materials and communications for their events and updates.  She came to HDI after nearly nine years as an editor at Christianity Today, where she worked on several publications and websites, including BuildingChurchLeaders.com, Ignite Your Faith, and ChristianCollegeGuide.net. She has also written for Christianity Today, CT Women, and WomenLeaders.com. Leonard earned a B.A. in English writing from Wheaton College.
