Joseph Galarneau

Joseph Galarneau is chief product officer for NewsRight, a New York-based start-up funded by 29 major media companies to create a global marketplace for news content and data. Previously, Joe served as chief operating officer and digital general manager of The Newsweek/Daily Beast Company. Before joining Newsweek, Joe was chief technology officer for Thomas Publishing and a senior manager in the media and entertainment practice of a global management consulting firm, where his clients included The New York Times, Advance Publications, Philip Morris, and JPMorganChase. A frequent speaker on digital media, Joe is a resident fellow and founding academic advisor for the Yale University Publishing Course, and was an adjunct faculty member at New York University. He taught more than a dozen seminars on digital media in China and Eastern Europe. Joe is on the national advisory board for the Internet Strategy Forum. Joe received an MBA from Duke University and a BS in physics from N.C. State University.
