Dr. Jamie Aten is a disaster psychologist and disaster ministry expert. He is the co-founder of Spiritual First Aid, the founder and co-director of the Humanitarian Disaster Institute, and the Blanchard Chair of Humanitarian & Disaster Leadership. He has been recognized for his work with an American Psychological Association (APA) Early Career Award and Applied Psychology of Religion and Spirituality Award. Dr. Aten has written or co-edited eleven books, published more than 100 professional research papers, and is regularly featured in outlets like The New York Times, CNN, USA Today, TIME, The Washington Post, Psychology Today, and Christianity Today.
