Jenny Hwang

Jenny Hwang is the program manager at Humanitarian Disaster Institute at Wheaton College. As a practitioner, Hwang served with nonprofits and hospitals in Cambodia, Malawi, and South Korea, where she worked with refugees, immigrants, trafficked survivors, and disaster survivors. In Cambodia, she worked with local NGOs to help develop programs to prevent trafficking, and in a psychiatric hospital in Malawi, she helped with the children’s program. While pursuing a graduate degree, Hwang worked at a refugee resettlement agency in their intensive care program and as an outreach coordinator for the American Red Cross. She earned a B.A in clinical psychology from Boston College with a minor in faith, peace, and justice.  She has an M.A. in international disaster psychology from the University of Denver.
